    Share it to MailFolio

Tap Share and choose MailFolio, or open the file from inside the app.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Formats handled in one app

  • MSG and OFT Outlook containers
  • EML and EMLX standalone messages
  • MBOX mail archives
  • MHT and MHTML archived pages, and Winmail.dat TNEF containers

Other ways to read the file

Try Files and your mail app first

If the document is a PDF or a format your current app already displays, open it there. You need an email-container reader only when the saved file itself is MSG, OFT, EML, EMLX, MBOX, MHT, MHTML or Winmail.dat.

Ask for a simpler copy

The sender may be able to resend the attachment separately or provide an EML or PDF copy. This is free but may lose the exact original container and depends on their access.

Identify the file before opening it

The extension helps you choose the workflow. MSG and OFT are Outlook containers; EML and EMLX are individual messages; MBOX is a multi-message archive; MHT and MHTML are web archives; Winmail.dat is TNEF packaging. Renaming an unfamiliar file to a more common extension does not convert it. Preserve the source before trying an app.

Use the iPad handoff

Save the file from Mail, Messages or a cloud app into Files. Use Share to open it with MailFolio, or select it from inside the app. MailFolio can also receive documents through system handoff. Once opened, inspect sender, recipients, date, headers and body. A reader is most useful when it exposes the message context, not just a filename.

Handle attachments on the device

For a TNEF or Outlook message, check the attachment list rather than assuming the expected document was included. Preview each file for free; with Pro, save it to a location you choose. An exported PDF of the message is a readable summary; it does not automatically carry all original attachments. Keep the source message when the relationship between mail and document matters.

Review privacy and display limits

MailFolio parses imported content on the iPad without sending it to Eutopix Labs. It blocks remote HTML resources, scripts and forms. Consequently, a newsletter may look different when hosted images are suppressed. Large MBOX archives may take longer on a mobile device. Damaged, encrypted or uncommon future variants may not decode fully.

Decide whether a reader fits your task

MailFolio does not manage an email account or edit the original message. If you need ongoing sending and inbox sync, use a mail client. If you need to read a saved file, inspect an attachment or export a copy, try a representative file with the one free successful own-file import before paying for Pro.
